My First Visit
Patient Forms
Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Insurance
Patients usually have insurance and financial questions. Insurance language and policies can be confusing and misleading. Terms like "coverage," "non-coverage," "in network," "out of network," "PPO," "HMO," "on the list," and "not on the list," tell you nothing! Our staff is trained to help patients understand insurance language and put it into real life dollars and cents. However, it is impossible to get real life answers until your doctor has completed all necessary tests and is clear about your diagnosis and treatment options. Rest assured that all cases accepted at our clinic have some type of financial benefits. We simply cannot know at the outset if the benefits will come from the insurance company, the clinic, or a combination of the two. For now, do not make any judgments about finances. Your initial Consultation will be as our guest. Our staff will do their best to make things easy for you.

Consultation
On your first visit: somewhere between the warm greeting and the cup of tea we will offer, you will know that you have come to a place that cares about you. Plan on spending about an hour with us. Please bring your insurance card, a list of any medication you are taking, and a brief summary of doctors you have seen and what you have been experiencing.
Dr. Langone will discuss your history with you to gain a better understanding of what you have been going through. He will ask you specific questions regarding your condition to help determine your diagnosis and the ideal care for your case. If he feels he can help you he will tell you, If he feels he cannot help, he will refer you to a doctor who can. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

Examination
Your examination will consist of many standard tests (BP, temp, ROM, reflexes, etc). In addition, because Dr. Langone's practice emphasizes the relation between nutrition and neurology, he will likely perform some tests that will be new to you. Specializing in chronic pain conditions requiring understanding the body in traditional as well as a nontraditional manner. Doc will discuss any indication for Xrays and/or lab work if necessary
X-Ray Studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignmnets and degeneration themselves.

Report of Findings
If Dr. Langone is able to accept your case, he will explain ideal treatment for your special needs. Most patients feel that their significant other,(spouse, parent or friend) needs to know that their condition is real in order to understand what they are going through. We agree and encourage your significant other to sit in on the report of findings. Later, when more self care or home treatment is appropriate, it will be the person who was present at your Report of Findings that will be best suited to help you because they have understood your case from day one.
Treatment Options
|
Treatment may differ from patient to patient even if they share the same diagnosis. The following are some of the treatment options available to fibromyalgia and fibromyalgia-like condition, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue sufferers: Myo-fascial and Trigger Point Therapy, Diet and Nutrition, Neuromuscular Therapy, Exercise, Subluxation Correction, Stress Management, Massage, Coping and Life Management, Cold Laser Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, as well as Kinesiology. |
|
Please note, treatment is rarely simple and most often requires several options being instituted at one time. For instance, subluxation correction and neuromuscular therapy may need to take place at the same time that dietary changes are being instituted by the patient at home. Striking a balance for the special needs in any one case is crucial. The proper combination of treatment options as well as the proper sequence of implementation is essential to maximize your clinical outcomes.
